My Top Blog Posts of 2007

2007 has been the year of blogs for me. In September 2006, I did not know the word "blog"! But after starting a blog in October 2006, this is my 400th post!! Along the way, I have learnt a lot from bloggers both within the country and outside. So when Seth Godin asks, "Why not be great?", while I celebrate my 40th birthday, I feel like 25!

My Top India Blog Posts 2007 are (not necessarily in any order, all of them are fabulous!)
There would be some that I have missed putting here. There would be some that I may not have seen. You can help.

The Best India Blog Posts 2007

It is the season of lists and reviews. 2007 has been my Year of Blogs. And to give something back and to get more out of the India blogosphere, I need your help to explore and list out the best India blog posts of 2007.
If some blog post has touched your heart and or has changed the way you look at things by its sheer logic and intelligence, please let me know by filling out the following form. I'll be grateful.

I'm planning to approach my blog friends who are veterans to help me figure out the very best of 2007. These veterans are extremely busy people. I can convince them only when I have a list of quality nominations. Please help!

Page3 Bombay Bloggers Party

It's good to be back to blogging after a long vacation. And what a cool way! The Bombay Bloggers had a Pg3 bash and there I was!!. And though I'm incorrigibly reclusive, inarticulate and an introvert, I did have a good time there.

I was also hoping to meet Amit Varma and I was not disappointed. The decibel level of the party hardly allowed us a decent discussion and was thrilled to get his email sent at 3.47 am in the night. Hope to meet up with him again soon amidst quieter surroundings.

It was a pleasure meeting Gaurav, Roshan, Jigar, Moksh and other bloggers. The party had just begun to rock when I had to move on. You can see the pictures at Melody's blog and Sakshi's blog. Melody has posted this one on her blog where I'm with Amit Varma and Mohit.

I'm happy to be back blogging.

The Best 21 Functional Blogs

I am honoured to be listed in "Best of India Blogs" and the joy is multiplied since it is done by Amit Agarwal, the poster boy of Indian Blogging.

The list is categorised in 18 sub headings and Amit has really done some hard work there. Special thanks to him for adding a Finance category. Even our famed Indibloggies do not have the Business/Finance category for their awards.

This sets me on the question why Business/Functional blogs have not yet taken India by storm compared to "Personalised" blogs. True, we have Gautam Ghosh, who is recognised as the Father of Business Blogging in India. But he is outnumbered by bloggers who have a personalised web log and are hugely popular.

I am 6 months old when it comes to blogging and I may be wrong. But I'll make a small start by listing the bloggers who have functional content. And the 5 categories are Business Management, HR/OD, Finance/Personal Finance, Technology, Marketing

Business Management

HR/OD

Finance/Personal Finance

Business Technology

Marketing/ Entrepreneurship

So there's my list of 21, to start with. I would love to add more and more to that list. Help. I would specially request for Finance blogs that I should be knowing but am not aware of.
