Everything About ULIPs?

AboutUlips is ICICI Prudential Life's attempt to educate the online public about Unit Linked Insurance Plans (ULIPs).
I would have loved to see a comparison chart of ULIPs across all insurers showing the various allocation/ administration charges. I couldn't find anything of that sort there.
ULIPs really pinch on their costs. And the cost details aren't found anywhere!

Ranjan,

Most of the charges are now a days highly regulated by IRDA and are more or less same(Diffenece are very minimal).

IRDA has setup a limit on allocation charge but it is some thing where charge structure varies from insurer to insurer.

ULIP is a market-linked insurance plan. The difference between a ULIP and other insurance plans is the way in which the premium money is invested. Premium from, say, an endowment plan, is invested primarily in risk-free instruments like government securities (gsecs) and AAA rated corporate paper, while ULIP premiums can be invested in stock markets in addition to corporate bonds and gsecs.
